- Purpose
This Credit Reporting Policy explains how Granite World (Aust) Pty Ltd, as trustee for By Design Marble Trust (“Granite World”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), manages credit-related personal information in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (“Privacy Act”), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and Part IIIA of the Privacy Act relating to credit reporting.
- Scope
This policy applies to:
- Business customers applying for trade credit;
- Guarantors and directors who provide personal guarantees;
- Suppliers, contractors, and other business partners.
Individual retail customers are generally required to pay a 50% deposit upfront and the remaining 50% prior to installation, and are not typically assessed for credit.
- Types of Credit Information Collected
We may collect and hold the following credit-related information:
- Full name, business name, ABN/ACN, and contact details;
- Details of credit applications, limits, and terms;
- Credit history, including payment behaviour;
- Trade references and business structure details;
- Credit reports and risk scores from credit reporting bodies;
- Records of defaults, serious credit infringements, or court judgments (where permitted by law).
- How We Collect Credit Information
Credit information may be obtained through:
- Credit application forms;
- Trade referees and public registers (e.g., ASIC);
- Communications with customers and guarantors;
- Third-party credit reporting bodies listed in Section 6.
- Use of Credit Information
Credit-related information may be used to:
- Assess creditworthiness and manage risk;
- Determine eligibility for trade credit;
- Establish terms of trade or require security;
- Recover overdue payments;
- Meet legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations.

You consent to us, to the extent permitted by section 21D of the Privacy Act, disclosing your credit information to any or all of the following credit reporting bodies and their successors and assigns:

6.2 Notifiable Matters
Our Credit Reporting Policy includes a statement of notifiable matters in accordance with section 21C of the Privacy Act and items 4.1 and 4.2 of the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code 2025 (Cth).
This includes:
- Your right to access credit information held about you;
- Your right to request the correction of inaccurate information;
- Your right to request CRBs not use your information for pre-screening of direct marketing;
- Your right to request CRBs not disclose your credit information if you believe you have been, or are likely to be, a victim of fraud.
- Storage and Security
We take reasonable steps to safeguard all credit-related information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Measures include:
- Secure electronic systems with password protection and encryption;
- Physical access controls and restricted files;
- Periodic data reviews and secure disposal practices.
- Access and Correction
You may request access to your credit information at any time or request correction of any inaccurate, out-of-date, or incomplete data. We will respond within 30 days and will not charge for access or correction, unless exceptional administrative effort is involved.
- Complaints and Disputes
If you believe we have breached our obligations under the Privacy Act or mishandled your credit information, please contact us in writing using the contact details below. We will investigate your complaint and provide a written response.
If you are unsatisfied with our resolution, you may escalate the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):
